The latest news regarding key events in the third quarter of 2020: the ITTF World Tour Bulgaria and Czech Opens. At the ITTF Executive Committee meeting on 4 June 2020, the ITTF announced that it remains hopeful of staging full open international events in the last quarter of 2020. India's G Sathiyan on Monday scaled new heights in his rapidly rising career by becoming the first Indian to break into the top-25 of the latest world ranking list released by International Table Tennis Federation. Sathiyan rose four spots to be 24th in the ITTF rankings, following his impressive sixth place finish in the Asia Cup in Yokohama earlier this month to secure a place in the World Cup in Chengdu from October 25 to 27. Cuttack, January 9: A. Sharath Kamal rewrote the scripts When the world No. 31 and multiple CWG and Asian Games medal winner defeated G. Sathiyan 4-3 in a pulsuating men singles final of the 11Sports 80th National Table Tennis Championship at the Nehru Stadium.  Sathiyan, matched Sharath point to point  and yet he suffered loss for the second time while chasing an elusive maiden title. This is his 3rd loss in the finals.  In fact, Sharath should have won earlier. But he could not hold his nerves despite leading 10-8 in the fifth game and Sathiyan pulled it off nicely at 12-10 to go 3-2 up. Vishwa Deenadayalan of Tamil Nadu and Yashashwini Ghorpade of Karnataka shared the Sub-Junior Boys and Girls titles in the 80th Cadet and Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championships at the Basketball Hall of Sector 42 Sports Complex here today.  In one-sided finals, the Tamil Nadu boy defeated his North Bengal rival Soumyadeep Sarkar 4-0 while Yashashwini won 4-1 against Kavyashree Bhaskar of Tamil Nadu.
